Walking

The Navan Slane footpath runs parallel with the old canal. It is currently being cleared and opened to barge traffic. It is 8 km long and is a beautiful and scenic walk.

Balrath Woods - less than 2 miles from Decoy Country Cottages has beautiful forest trails suitable both for walking and cycling and picnics. There is a car parking facility.

There are forrest parks at Lough Sheelin and Lough Bracken, forest walks at Mullarmeen and Deerpark.

The Wicklow Mountains are about 1 hour away and provide scenic climbing for both the novice and experienced climber alike.
